False allegation at sea: Senior Partner Neal Gozzett and Associate Solicitor Rachel Innes successfully secured the discontinuance of a police investigation against a foreign national accused of serious sexual allegations aboard a cruise ship, in a case that involved complex multi-jurisdictional elements.
Neal and Rachel assisted by Senior Leading Counsel, prepared and submitted extensive written representations to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), which set out why there were no lawful reasons that would permit a police investigation in England and Wales.
Maritime law was consulted and contrasted against the case facts which proved that England and Wales had no jurisdiction with which to proceed.
The CPS quickly agreed with our determinations, and our client, a young professional who had been detained with his passport seized and without access to financial help or emotional support, was able to be successfully repatriated back to his country of origin.
Neal and Rachel assisted both the client’s corporate employer, the CPS, the relevant police force, Border force and Immigration to obtain a tremendous and just outcome for our client.
False Allegation of high-profile national and international entertainer: Senior Partner Maria Monan and Associate Solicitor Rachel Innes achieved a resounding discontinuance of a police investigation against our client a high-profile national and international entertainer with a twenty-five-year exemplary reputation.
Our client was accused of serious sexual offences by multiple complainants. Maria and Rachel prepared a dossier of evidence which they submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). This evidence undermined the allegations made against our client showing them to be false, malicious and unsubstantiated.
The CPS upon receipt of our defence evidence quickly reached the decision that no further action would be taken, halting the police investigation and providing our client with much needed closure and the freedom to get back to his work and family.

Our client, a mother desperate to ensure her child could transition to a secondary school who were equipped to support her child’s extensive special educational needs (SEN) instructed Monan Gozzett LLP to seek a change of setting on the restrictive ECHP. Although the change of setting was denied, Rachel and Jessca were able to obtain a tribunal consent order to ensure that the appropriate reasonable adjustments necessary for the child to be successful at secondary school would be upheld and any options for redress would remain available.
Professional practitioner facing false allegations: Associate Solicitor Rachel Innes obtained a successful discontinuance of a police investigation against our client, a high-profile leading provider in the field of mental health services.
The historic serious sexual allegation dating back over ten years ago impacted our client’s mental health practise and their right to work causing severe emotional and economic distress as they struggled to deal with the impact a police investigation has on professionals who not only become subject to bail conditions but are also investigated by their regulatory bodies.
By working diligently with the Police, Rachel was able to secure a no further action outcome for our client who is now able to return to their highly regarded mental health practice.
False Allegation of Aviation Professional: Associate Solicitor Rachel Innes successfully achieved a no further action (NFA) outcome for an aviation professional accused of serious stalking and harassment offences. By comparing the client’s extensive evidence which pointed away from any wrongdoing against the prosecution case, Rachel was able to demonstrate that our client had been the victim of a false allegation. The police quickly discontinued the investigation and our client was able to move on with his career.
