Critical in the preparation and subsequent trial was the detailed analysis of unused material which included significant third party documents such as counselling records from outside the jurisdiction, these documents heavily undermined both the complainant and prosecution witnesses evidence.
The case involved a number of cross-jurisdictional issues.
Following a European arrest warrant being issued, our client had been arrested and detained in a foreign prison.
Once extradited back to the UK under a red notice, we were able to secure his release on bail.
Our team then worked tirelessly to have the bail varied so that he could leave the UK and return home to run his business pending the trial.
