During family breakdowns, our client’s first concern is often what will happen to their child(ren) and our team believe that child(ren) must be at the centre of all decisions made.

We offer practical solutions that aim to minimise distress for the whole family (including grandparents who might fear losing rights to see their grandchildren).

Our team are members of Resolution and are experienced representing parents, grandparents, children and relatives.

We aim to support you and your child(ren) through the process and we have experience working with a range of other professionals including, child and family therapists, counsellors, mediators and child psychologists.  We recognise that legal solutions imposed by the Court are not always in the best interests of our clients and their children and will aim to reach an amicable solution wherever possible.

Issues upon relationship breakdown

We understand that the end of a relationship is traumatic and brings both emotional and financial challenges.  We are compassionate and creative in are approach when assisting you to achieve the best outcome for you and your family.

There are many issues that could arise upon the breakdown of your relationship:

  • Where and with whom your child(ren) will live and how much time they will spend with their other parent and/or family members;
  • Issues relating to exercising Parental Responsibility if you and your ex-partner cannot agree when making decisions in relation to issues such as your child’s schooling, religion, medical treatment or name changes
  • Financial issues such as child maintenance
  • The role of each parent and other family members in your child(ren)’s life going forward

We recognise that legal solutions imposed by the Court are not always in the best interests of our clients and their child(ren) and will aim to reach an amicable solution wherever possible.

It may be possible for you to reach an agreement with your partner and for this to be set out in writing in a document called a Parenting Agreement.

We do however appreciate that is not always possible.  For example, in cases involving Parental Alienation or False Allegations an agreement is unlikely to be reached.  In that situation our experienced team can assist you making an Application to the Court for an Order under the Children Act 1989.

We offer an initial call with one of our representatives in order to assess whether we are able to assist you and to discuss anticipated fees for our services.
