Associate Solicitor Rachel Innes and Senior Paralegal Jessica Riseborough together with Counsel, appealed a local authority decision not to grant an amendment to a child’s Education and Health Care Plan (ECHP). Our client, a mother desperate to ensure her child could transition to a secondary school who were equipped to support her child’s extensive special educational needs (SEN) instructed Monan Gozzett LLP to seek a change of setting on the restrictive ECHP. Although the change of setting was denied, Rachel and Jessca were able to obtain a tribunal consent order to ensure that the appropriate reasonable adjustments necessary for the child to be successful at secondary school would be upheld and any options for redress would remain available.
